A pregnant mother of three is forced to sell her baby stroller after her husband abandons the family, leaving her struggling to care for their children alone.

Anne Sargent sits on the kitchen floor late at night, quietly crying once her three kids are asleep. It’s the only moment she has to let her emotions out. She gently places a hand on her growing belly and apologizes to her unborn baby, feeling overwhelmed and defeated despite trying her best.

Only a couple of months earlier, life looked completely different. Anne had been happily married and preparing for her fourth child, confident in her family and her future. That all changed when her husband, Derek, suddenly announced he was leaving. He claimed he felt ignored and only valued as a provider, accusing Anne of focusing entirely on the children. Despite her shock and attempts to understand, he walked out and never returned.

Left alone, Anne takes a part-time job at a grocery store, but it isn’t enough to support her family. With bills piling up, she begins selling personal belongings, including family heirlooms, just to afford food and utilities. Eventually, all that remains is an old stroller she had saved for the new baby—something deeply sentimental but necessary to sell.

Heartbroken, she takes it to a flea market and sells it for a small amount of money. She assumes that’s the end of it, until two days later when she opens her front door and finds the stroller sitting on her porch with a note inside asking her to call a number.

Confused, Anne calls and meets a woman named Grace, who reveals a shocking truth: she had been dating Derek and only recently discovered Anne and the children existed. After finding out she was pregnant, Grace tried to surprise Derek with the stroller—but instead, he reacted angrily, rejected her, and told her to leave, revealing he already had a wife and children he wanted nothing more to do with.

Devastated and now homeless, Grace has nowhere to go. Anne, despite everything, offers her a place to stay in exchange for help with childcare, since Grace can work remotely. Together, they find a way to rebuild their lives—Anne can finally take a full-time job, and Grace has a home and support.

Over time, the two women form a strong bond and raise their children together like a real family. When Derek eventually tries to return, Anne shuts the door on him, choosing peace, stability, and the new family she built without him.
