Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86.

He first gained recognition in the 1980s through martial arts films such as A Force of One and An Eye for an Eye, eventually rising to become one of Hollywood’s most prominent action stars by the end of the decade. In 1993, he expanded his success to television with the series Walker, Texas Ranger.

The news of his passing was confirmed on March 20 through a statement shared on his official Instagram account.

“With deep sadness, our family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning,” the statement read. “While we wish to keep certain details private, we can share that he passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.”

“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a dear brother, and the heart of our family.”

“He lived with faith, purpose, and deep commitment to those he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions and leaves behind a lasting legacy.”
