It all started on an ordinary Tuesday when my 13-year-old son Ethan and 11-year-old daughter Lily never returned home from school. At first, I assumed they were simply delayed or visiting friends, but as the hours passed and they stopped answering their phones, panic set in.
By evening, I was calling other parents. Shortly after, I was driving through town, checking parks, streets, and anywhere they might have gone. When nothing turned up, I contacted the police that night.
